This course presents an overview of chemistry and chemical reactions, and aims at developing an understanding of important chemical concepts and models. It demonstrates the practical applications of chemistry to other fields of science and engineering and shows how chemistry impacts our daily lives.

This course also provides training for laboratory skills and techniques: introduces laboratory techniques and measurement, identification of properties of matter, volumetric analysis, and characterisation of thermodynamic properties.
