Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to enable students gain first-hand research experience in social psychology. Students will build upon the knowledge that they acquired in introductory research methods and statistics classes and gain hands-on experience in various steps of conducting research in psychology. These include critically evaluating empirical studies, designing a study, writing a formal proposal (literature review, hypotheses, and method sections), collecting data, conducting data analysis with SPSS/JASP or another data analysis program, writing a formal research paper, and verbally & visually presenting your findings. This course is focused on gaining critical skills for advanced level research methods.
