Having successfully completed this course, the student will be able to:

1) Formulate, analyze and interpret Maxwell’s equations in time and frequency domains, scalar and vector potentials, boundary conditions, wave equations, wave propagation, time-harmonic fields.

2) Formulate, analyze and interpret uniform plane waves (plane waves in lossless or lossy medium, polarization, reflection and refraction).

3) Formulate, analyze and interpret the flow of electromagnetic power and Poynting’s theorem.

4) Formulate, analyze and interpret transmission lines.

5) Formulate, analyze and interpret waveguides.
