During the process of and as the result of successfully completing this course, the students will:

• demonstrate an understanding of helping process including intentions for intervening with clients, helping skills to fulfill these intentions, possible reactions demonstrated by clients, and the means to evaluate the interventions
• recognize the significance of the counselor role and ethical issues regarding the counseling relationship
• explore the process of counseling through conducting counseling sessions
• give and receive constructive feedback about demonstrated helping skills
• explore and become aware of their strengths and areas for continued growth as prospective counselors
