Throughout the course students will read seminal papers to discuss the following questions: How do senses work? How does the brain interpret these sensory signals? What are the image properties that lead to specific percepts? What are human perception characteristics that inspire artificial intelligence systems?

This course aims to provide students with

• Evidence from current empirical and computational approaches to study vision
• Introductory level understanding of computer graphics, psychophysics, brain imaging

At the end of the course students will gain experience

• In critical thinking and integrating evidence from different fields such as computer vision, graphics, behavioural modelling, psychophysics, and brain imaging.
• In research communication, both written and oral.
