This course is an introduction to public speaking and focuses on development of practical skills for effective communication in English.  It emphasizes fundamental stages of speech preparation and delivery including adopting and developing audio and visual aids. Throughout the course, students will deliver presentations, have discussions, and engage in giving and receiving feedback.  Common problems of expression, pronunciation, and presentation skills will be discussed.  Presentations will be evaluated in terms of their appropriateness of content, form, and audio-visual aids, and the presenters will be graded in terms of their accuracy and fluency of speech and delivery of talk (e.g., gestures, posture, outfit, etc.).
