At the end of this course, students will be able to
- Distinguish between the types of mathematical knowledge (mathematical content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge and technological pedagogical content knowledge).
- Describe the misconceptions that students may have, and generates the ways of covering these misconceptions.
- Predict students’ mathematical misconceptions and take this into consideration while organizing lessons.
- Relate pedagogical content knowledge to mathematical content knowledge and technological pedagogical content knowledge.
- Appraise developing technological pedagogical content knowledge by following the developments in integrating technology into mathematics teaching.
- Appraise developing her/his conceptual knowledge.
- Appraise supporting her/his procedural knowledge with underlying reasoning.
- Appraise developing her/his relational understanding rather than instrumental understanding.
- Appraise guiding students to relationally understand conceptual knowledge and procedural knowledge.
