In this course the students will learn about the causes, development, and treatment of cancer at molecular level. The molecular mechanisms by specific oncogenic mutations and supressor genes related to carcinogenesis will be discussed. Invasion and metastasis cascade of tumours in addtion heterotypic interactions within the tumour microenvironment will be covered. Lastly, rational treatment of cancer and how cancer treatments can fail will be discussed.
