This course is structured around three aspects of writing research papers in the field of literary studies

the craft of research, methods and techniques of literary interpretation and the politics of academic writing. This course will be heavily dependent on students' own writing throughout the semester: they are expected to comment critically on their classmates' writing and reflect critically on and revise their own writing.Students will inquire what other scholars say about  the methods, techniques and politics of writing research papers and test out their evolving understanding of writing papers in the field of literary studies by enacting it in practice.
