At the end of this course, students will

(1) learn key terms and principles of quantitative type of research utilised in Applied Linguistics (AL), SLA and ELT

(2) grasp the main stages of doing research in AL, SLA and ELT

(3) know the various data collection procedures employed in AL, SLA and ELT

(4) explore and handle quantitative data in a systematic manner

(5) constructively criticize published studies in the fields of AL, SLA and ELT

(6) produce publishable papers and research reports in APA style
