After successfully completing this course, students will be able to:
- Construct a reservoir simulation model of a given hydrocarbon/geothermal reservoir
- Design completion and production aspects of a proposed well location including artificial lift, nodal analysis, perforation design, well stimulation
- Analyze static & dynamic characteristics of a hydrocarbon/geothermal reservoir using reservoir engineering principles
- Design and analyze field-development plans using reservoir-management principles
- Incorporate economics, risk and uncertainty into engineering design
- Communicate effectively with a range of audiences via verbal technical presentations
- Communicate effectively with a range of audiences via technical reports
- Apply project management and teamwork skills to petroleum engineering design
