Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to provide students with a foundational understanding of the principles of vibration and their application to geotechnical engineering problems. The course will focus on the dynamic behavior of soils and foundations, including the experimental determination of dynamic soil properties, and the analysis of foundation vibrations under various loading conditions. It will also introduce key concepts related to earthquake-induced ground motions, liquefaction, and the dynamic stability of slopes and earth structures.
