Course Objectives

The main objective of the course is to introduce students to alternative approaches to monetary theory and policy. The course aims to stress fundamental policy issues, many of which are topical. Whilst emphasis is on policy questions, theory postulations and empirical evidence will be referred to frequently. A preliminary reading list is presented below. Students are expected to read the course material before lectures and to contribute to discussions.
