At the end of the course the students will understand the architecture and evolution of the earth as a four dimensional dynamic system. The mechanisms and controlling factors of opening and closure of oceanic basins, formation of mountain belts, continental plateaus. The styles of regional structures and their bearing on the processes that govern the dynamics and evolution of the continental crust and on the formation and destruction of mega continental cycles.
