By the end of the course the students,

a) Will be able demonstrate knowledge of key historical facts, values, and ideas that have shaped the Turkish press throughout history.
b) Will be able to identify critically the culture of journalism in Turkey’s context, its principles and its practice,

c) Will be able to demonstrate their understanding of relation between the public opinion and the press,

d) Will be able to identify the connections between the technological development and the press,

e) Will be able identify the importance of the press agencies and journalist associations for the development of Turkish press and journalism,

f) Will be able to identify the relation between the politics and journalism,

g) Will be able to identify the governments’ use of censor as a control tool on the press.
