Course Objectives

Through the entire span of architecture, the design and integration of creative innovative and feasible structural systems for architectural built forms has always been an essential issue. Due to the accelerated developments in computer aided design technology, architectural search for new free forms and spatial organization stimulated the structural system design. Thus, as an introduction to these new concepts of bridging geometric morphology of new forms and architecture, this course intends to focus on the innovative quests for architectural and structural forms. Besides focusing on the present morphological studies and classifications, the geometric orders, material composition and spatial organization will be explored to understand the vast array of possible configurations that address structural requirements.
