The main objective of the course is to develop the ability to conduct design by research. It endows the graduate student with the knowledge of the social, political, economic, geographic and professional contexts of architecture and an awareness of the social and environmental consequences of design decisions. The following are the general objectives of the studio:

• Acquiring methods of reaching and selecting written and visual materials with a critical thinking,
• Developing skills of defining a problematique based on a critical analysis of wider spatial, socio-economic and cultural contexts,
• Achieving competence in using different modes of representation in architecture.
