Course Learning Outcomes
- Students will realize the importance of adequate and safe water supply with respect to public health. Further students will be familiar to the developments, achievements of engineering and technological applications and progress throughout the history.
- Students will become familiar with the leading national and international institutions; they will be able to reach them through internet.
- Students will develop analytical and computing skills for forecasting population and demand for community water supply systems planning.
- Students will be familiar with the characteristics of various components of water supply systems. The characteristics under considerations are: geometrical properties, materials, available alternatives, etc.,
- Students will develop skills in sizing different components of water supply systems using the equations provided by course material and using a distribution system modeling software.
- Students will be familiar with several types of water resources that are available for community water supply system development.
- Students will develop skills in estimating yield and quantities to be extracted from these sources using the equations provided by on-line course material.
- Students will realize the importance of waste water removal from environmental protection point of view.
- Students will develop a general understanding of the main areas of wastewater removal.
- Students will develop an ability to solve a specific environmental pollution problem caused by stormwater and wastewater.
