This course aims at a broad overview of state of art topics in the interconnected Earth processes occurring in relation to seas and oceans. We particularly focus on the integral nature of how ocean processes are tightly coupled to seafloor geology, geophysics and the geochemistry.  We present the seafloor and its dynamics as a important component of life in the oceans, past and present. Modern tools and technologies used in seafloor studies will also be introduced.
