Course Objectives

This course develops students' qualitative research competencies through critical engagement with contemporary methodological debates and hands-on practice. Moving from foundational concepts (ontology, epistemology, methodology) to research process and design, students explore diverse methods, including interviewing, observation, and participatory approaches. The course emphasizes the sociological craft—integrating theory, reflexivity, and ethical awareness—while examining critical and creative research practices across sociocultural contexts.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
