At the end of the course, the student will be able to:

1) Evaluate the significance of economic/financial dimensions   of the power system operation/planning due to deregulated energy markets,

2) Understand and solve economic dispatch and unit committment problems,

3) Understand power interchange schemes, power pools and transmission effects,

4) Understand and analyze optimum power flow problem.
