- differentiate between basic research designs and their use in developing knowledge for development and learning,
- describe basic concepts and principles in relation to development,
- identify and examine Piaget's stages of cognitive development,
- describe and analyze social approach to explaining cognitive development through the concepts and principles of Vygotsky,
- explain psycho-social development theories in terms of conceptual foundations and draw implications for analyzing individuals’ developmental characteristics,
- compare Piaget's and Kohlberg's moral development theories,
- describe Kohlberg's stages of moral development and draw implications for analyzing individuals at different ages and cultures,
- identify and compare implications of development theories for teaching and learning in schools,
- describe behavioral approach to learning and implications for teaching and learning processes,
- explain cognitive approach to learning and implications for teaching and learning processes,
- describe humanistic approach to learning and implications for teaching and learning processes,
