Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course students will be able to

1.use intensive reading skills, which include previewing, skimming, scanning, identifying points of reference, guessing unknown vocabulary, understanding figurative speech, making inferences, strengthening the use of dictionaries, and identifying the writer’s technique.

2.write a well-organized paragraph in different genres such as expository, argumentative and reaction-response

3.develop their writing skills emphasizing the organization, coherence, and cohesion and such sub-skills as summarizing, outlining, and paraphrasing at paragraph level.

4.predict and identify main ideas

5. decode intersentential clues 

6, develop extensive reading skills
