In order to successfully complete this course, students are expected to
- use what they have learned about modernism and postmodernism in general in their analysis of the assigned novels
- interpret the modernist and postmodernist novels with the guidance of the lecturer
- use the assigned secondary sources to discuss the main elements of the novels
- draw parallelisms between different literary works and discuss their differences
- apply the literary theoretical tools they have learned to reach a deeper understanding of the novels
- employ different ways of thinking/methods to interpret the novels
- write well-organized essays discussing the assigned novels
- use their learning to interpret other modernist and postmodernist novels
