The students are expected to acquire the following knowledge, skills and competencies through the course:

1) Comprehensive knowledge of the basic theories and history of social movements

2) Questioning the generic theories in relation to the contemporary social movements

3) Exercising new social and political theories in explaining contemporary social movement cases

4) Creative interpretations of inter-disciplinary approaches in studying social movements
