The main aims of the course are to familiarize students with the principle concepts of environmental  (and social) impact assessment (EIA/ESIA), to provide students the steps and requirements for the preparation of an EIA report and the international and local practices in EIA process and procedures, as well as to encourage students to express their opinions, take part in teamwork, carry out research, develop engineering and management solutions, and present and evaluate their work.
