COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of this course the students will have finished the level A1.1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Emphasis will be placed on vocabulary expansion, basic grammar acquisition and basic comprehension.
At the end of the semester the students will be able to:
- establish basic social contact (greetings and farewells; introductions; asking how people are; saying please, thank you, sorry etc.);
- describe him/herself (and his/her family), what he/she does and where and how he/she lives;
- ask and answer simple questions about him/herself and other people, things he/she has ( ask and answer questions about price of things, make polite requests, ask for permission)
- handle spelling, numbers, time and dates;
- fill in form with personal details;
- ask for or pass on personal details in written form (a short message, an e-mail or a postcard);
- understand instructions;
- understand and extract information from simple listening and reading texts using a range of strategies talk about working places and professions;
