The objective of the course is to teach students the fresh and hardened state properties of concrete. Factors that affect both the fresh and hardened properties are also aimed to address. Students will gain comprehensive knowledge on the strength and durability of concrete; specifically, diffusion, permeability, carbonation, acid and sulfate attacks, freeze and thaw will be discussed in detail. Students will also gain practical skills during the laboratory experiments.
