Course Objectives

Students are introduced  to the commensurate line (all equal length but different characteristic impedance) microwave networks. The general microwave network analysis and synthesis methods are described. Special emphasis is given to the commensurate line microwave components and systems. Couple line and related equivalent circuits are investigated in detail. Standard lumped element and commensurate line filters are included with examples. Students who takes this course will learn the essential concepts and tools needed for modern microwave engineering in the areas of impedance matching, equalizers, filters and related topics. The main objective of the course is to provide students with the theoretical knowledge basic skills in the microwave engineering areas outlined below:
