The course will emphasize the important features of sudden loading on members. It concentrates on high velocity impact which creates plastic deformation of materials. It gives the fundamental differences from quasi-static approach to the problems.  The course is specifically designed to teach the importance and necessity of knowing the effect of impulsive loading on members from a novel design point of view.
