Course Objectives

This course is designed to investigate the complex relations between travel demand and traffic network modeling, focusing on the mathematical representation of traffic networks and traffic flows. It includes mathematical modeling of travel decision making-process including route choice problem, and underlying network assignment models (i.e. user equilibrium, system optimum, etc.) highlighting the difference between different assignment principles (i.e. static assignment, dynamic assignment, stochastic assignment, etc.).
