By the end of the course the students will be able to
- evaluate the role of technology in contemporary school mathematics teaching and learning.
- evaluate the content (what), methods (how), and materials (tools) necessary to teach mathematics in a technologically oriented society.
- compare and contrast various technologies (e.g., computer software, Web-based/virtual manipulatives, graphing calculators and/or handheld devices, etc.) and technology-based lesson materials.
- understand major research issues in teaching mathematics within a technology assisted/oriented environment.
- construct a technology assisted learning environment that supports the teaching and learning of meaningful mathematics.
