The objective of this course are:

to explain the need of non-parametric approach to statistical inference; to explain the concept of distribution-free statistics; to review the order statistics and its role in creating distribution-free statistics; to work out the distribution of important distribution-free statistics; to introduce non-parametric methods and comparing them with classical methods; to show how to implement these methods using the R-programming/R-packages.
