Upon the successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- distinguish the related terms and meanings of ethics, morals, law, rights, and values as well as comprehend their similarities and relationships
- describe the important ethical principles of a professional psychologist
- discuss the ethical issues surrounding the research and professional conduct in psychology
- use ethical guidelines to make and justify decisions in different possible situations
- write well inform consent and debriefing documents for human participants; as well as be able to handle deception in the most ethical manner
- understand what constitutes plagiarism and the issues surrounding authorship in reporting research
