- evaluate children's algebraic thinking and how to plan instruction based on this assessment.
- identify and evaluate the current trends in teaching algebra such as developing algebraic thinking in early grades.
- develop learning environments that supports the teaching and learning of algebra from generalization, problem solving, modeling and functional approaches percpectives.
- critically evalute the research in school algebra.
