Course Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course the students will be able to i) differentiate simulation and optimization problems, ii) decide if it is necessary to use nonlinear programming for the solution of various optimization problems, iii) develop mathematical formulation of a nonlinear optimization problem and solve them using the appropriate approch such as dynamic programming, quadratic programming, etc., iv) identify the limitations of the solutions and interpret the solutions of the non linear optimization problems.
