The objective of this course is to familiarize the students to the steps in a seismic hazard analysis. Discussions will focus on describing seismic risk and methods to express it both deterministically and probabilistically. Hazard coming from different sources will be aggregated to address various components of risk. Design time histories will be derived from available records by using spectral matching software. These motions will be used for the investigation of seismic performance of civil engineering structures.
