This course introduces students to the study of language acquisition. It familiarizes students with popular opinions about language learning and teaching. The course considers the major theories in the acquisition of a native language and in second language learning. It also focuses on individual differences regarding second language learning and the characteristics of learner language. Students will gain applied analytical skills through working with primary language data.
