Upon the completion of this subject, students should be able to:

• Be familiar with the relevant psychology literature and feel competent in issues pertaining to speech perception at undergraduate level.
• Have a solid awareness of how research in speech perception can profitably be used in applied contexts such as speech pathology, psychopathology and language instruction.
• Develop ideas of research related to speech perception on theoretical and applied levels in their respective areas – psychology and foreign language instruction.
• Research and write a comprehensive report on both theoretical and applied issues in speech perception.
