Course Learning Outcomes

 The aim of this course is to equip you with analytical skills for examining the nature of morphology and the various ways of forming words in the German language. Upon completing the course you should be equipped with various types of morphemes, its variants and the relationship with other levels of grammar. You should be able to explain the relationships between morphology, phonology and syntax. You should also be able to distinguish between morpheme, word, lexis, vocabulary and lexeme. At the end of the course, you should be able to name and explain the various types of word formation processes that we have in the German language. Some of these include affixation, compounding etc.
