Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Describe and explain fundamental ecological concepts and how they apply to planning and design.
• Critically evaluate planning practices and policies through the lens of ecological sustainability.
• Identify key ecological challenges such as habitat fragmentation, climate change, and pollution, and propose planning-based strategies to address them.
• Incorporate ecological principles into spatial planning, including zoning, green infrastructure, and protected area management.
• Develop informed and sustainable planning proposals that align with climate resilience and ecological conservation goals.
