Course Objectives

Students will acquire up to date knowledge about how infant and children’s development can be supported either through direct work with children, or through environmental enrichment, parent education and caregiver trainings.  

Students will learn various intervention projects to support language development, cognitive development, reading acquisition, joint attention, development of low birth weight infants, attachment formation and social competence; as well as intervention projects to prevent bullying, and adolescent problems.

 

Students will have opportunity to design an intervention project of their own.

Students will also gain insight about the importance of effective evaluation of intervention projects.
