Course Objective 1: Introducing the principles of converting ac form of electrical energy into dc form of electrical energy through specifically developed power converters involving semiconductor switching elements.

Course Objective 2: Introducing the electrical characteristics and properties of semiconductor elements. Developing awareness about the proper use of the semiconductor elements in power converters with emphasis on; electrical, mechanical, and thermal issues.

Course Objective 3: Introducing the techniques for switchings of the semiconductor switching elements.
