Course Learning Outcomes

Having successfully completed this course, the student will be able to:

1) Apply mathematical methods and circuit analysis models to analyze CMOS digital electronic circuits.

2) Analyze, design, and layout combinational and sequential digital circuits of moderate complexity.

3) Apply introductory knowledge of MOS transistor and interconnect physics to identify fundamental integrated circuit design constraints; performance, power, testability interactions, and robust design concepts.

4) Identify typical subsystems in digital VLSI integrated circuits such as datapaths, controllers, memory arrays, clock and power distribution networks, and I/Os.

5) Use Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) tools to design, model, and simulate moderately complex digital integrated circuits using a provided CMOS process technology.
