At the end of this course, the student will have read approximately 12 plays by Shakespeare and wıll have studied in greater depth at least six of them.
Students wıll also have analysed several of the formal (including stylistic) features and thematic concerns of Shakespeare's tragedies, comedies, historıes and romances/problem plays
After this course students will find that they can easily identify the similarities and differences between classıcal, earlıer and contemporary (Early Modern) drama and Shakesperean drama
Students of this course will also be introduced to some of the major issues regarding textual transmission and cruxes of editing Early Modern texts
