Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- describe the history and use of testing and assessment.
- define and describe types of reliability and validity
- describe the process of test development
- write about theoretical concepts underlying the construction of a basic measurement scale and develop appropriate test items for the scale.
- evaluate the psychometric characteristics of an instrument using computer software (e.g., SPSS, TAP, ITEMAN)
- communicate for the discipline by creating, piloting, analyzing, writing, and reporting on an original test/measure created for the class.
