By the end of this course the students will learn what type of engineering problems require nonlinear optimization algorithms as solution. They will be able to formulate water resources engineering related problems for simulation and optimization. The students will learn basics of nonlinear programming, dynamic programmig, quadratic programming, etc. They will be able to interpret the outcomes of these solution approaches.
