Course Objectives

At the end of this course, the student will have a knowledge of all the acknowledged plays by Shakespeare, and have read and studied, in detail, approximately 12 of them. 

Students wıll also have analysed and develop competency in discussing several of the formal (including stylistic) features and thematic concerns of Shakespeare's tragedies, comedies, historıes and romances/problem plays

After this course students will find that they have developed a sensitivity towards major issues regarding textual transmission,  the relation (especially historicall)y  between literary editing and theory, the history of inter generic relations, especially with relation to Early Modern texts, translations, and drama, 

Successful students will not only be able, easily, to identify the similarities and differences between classıcal, earlıer, contemporary (other Early Modern )drama and Shakesperean drama, but distinguish features of his early plays from his later ones.
