Course Objectives

Neurodegenerative diseases refers to a range of disorders that affect neural cells in the human nervous system. This course aims to provide in-depth knowledge on known pathogenic mechanisms that lead to neural cell death in most common neurodegenerative diseases. There has been extensive research efforts to better understand these disorders and develop therapeutic means, however there is still no effective treatments for neurodegenerative conditions.

This course aims to i) expand the theoretical knowledge of the neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases and ii) introduce and emphasize state-of-the-art experimental approaches used in the field.
