- Understanding of the principles of Maxwell’s Equations, Polarization, Photons and the Density of States
- Essential knowledge of Crystals, Lattices, Lattice Vibrations and Phonons, and nonlinear optical materials
- Essential knowledge of various optical phenomena such as Interband absorption, Free electrons, Plasmons, Excitons, Luminescence centers, Scattering and absorption by phonons
- Essential knowledge on various advanced optical spectroscopy methods such as Time Resolved Spectroscopy, Pump-probe measurements, Spectroscopic ellipsometry.
